Popsilos and Ashop begin production

Popsilos and Ashop begin production

Eight artists will begin the production of five large-scale murals on farm silos starting now through to May 30th for the Popsilos project, a touristic circuit combining arts and agrifood in the Prescott and Russell countryside in celebration of Canada’s 150th. The public is invited to visit the sites during production while being respectful of the artists at work and everyone’s safety. The experienced mural artists were selected by a committee comprised of representatives from the Prescott-Russell Arts Council, the farm owners having submitted their silo for the project, the community, Popsilos and the international urban art agency Ashop, hired as artistic co-producer of the project.

The impressive lineup of artists includes:

- Lacey Jane and Layla Folkmann who will be painting at la Ferme Michel Dignard et Jeannette Mongeon at 591 St-Guillaume Street in Embrun,
- Benny Wilding and Carlos Oliva who will be painting at Ben-Rey-Mo ltd at 127 Principale Street in St-Albert,
- Roadsworth who will be painting at Horses by Hannah at 8 County Road 3 in Casselman,
- Emmanuel Jarus and Zek One who will be painting at Ouimet Farms Adventure at 63 Main Street West in Vankleek Hill and
- OMEN who will be painting at the Vankleek Hill Vineyard at 3725 County Road 12 in Vankleek Hill.

Overarching mural themes are youth, diversity, the environment and the unity of all people. Learn more about the artists on popsilos.ca.
