ACTIVAR TEAMS UP WITH A’SHOP

Activar Teams Up with A’shop for the Realization of the Popsilos Project

A’shop will act as a coproducer for the mural on farm silos project celebrating Canada’s 150th in Prescott-Russell

The Popsilos project, a circuit that combines art and agrifood tourism in the Prescott-Russell countryside to celebrate Canada’s 150th, will be coproduced with the international urban art agency, A’Shop, based in Montreal. The circuit leads to the discovery of four giant murals on farm silos and invites visitors to stop at small producers farms on their way.

A’shop has an impressive list of successful complex large-scale mural productions. Having painted over 100 000 square feet of walls in six different countries since 2009, they have developed an expertise and the know-how to produce artistic feats in a participative, coherent and safe way while being very efficient.

"A’shop is a reference in large-scale mural production. This is a partnership that allows us to create valuable relationships not only for this particular project, but for future opportunities in Prescott-Russell.”
- Shanna Steals, Executive Director of the Prescott-Russell Arts Council, a regional collaborator of the Popsilos project.

« We are so excited to collaborate with Activar on this amazing project in Prescott-Russell. What a great opportunity to bring urban art to a community and introduce such unique, larger then life canvases to artists. »
- Kris Wilk, President, A’shop

The Popsilos project is inspired by the Kelburn Castle, in Scotland, which has one of its façades covered in graffiti art and has become a tourist destination. Cofounders of Activar, a boutique strategy, project management and development firm, were really excited by it. They both grew up in the united counties of Prescott and Russell and are happy to craft a unique project for the region that celebrates Canada’s 150th while putting the spotlight on agriculture and agrifood. Being about the center point between Montreal and Ottawa, two buzzing cities, Prescott-Russell offers countryside relaxation. Celebrations for Montreal’s 375th and Canada’s 150th make 2017 an opportune year for the launch of a unique project like Popsilos in Prescott-Russell.

This project is made possible with the participation of the Government of Canada.
